Fighting
on the card will be two of Denver’s outstanding fighters from Mexico, Alejandro
Castillo and Jose Morales. Fighters from Mexico tend to bring out the best in
the fight game Salvador Sanchez, Lupe Pintor, Julio Cesar Chavez, Marcos Antonio
Barrera, Eric Morales, the Marquez brothers Juan and Rafael, I can go on and on.
You have Mexican fighters that will use the sport as a method of making an income and then you have fighters like the above mentioned, that were destined to become boxing greats.
Alejandro Castillo, remember the name, this young caballero recently made the transition from amateur to professional boxer. In his professional debut he took on outstanding and promising national titlist and Jr. Olympic champion Shawn Nichol. Castillo showed Denver boxing fans what he was made of and what they can come to expect from him. Castillo defeated Nichol in convincing and promising fashion.
Castillo, from Cuauhtémoc Chihuahua, Mexico now lives in Denver, Colorado, he graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School and is currently enrolled at Emily Griffith Opportunity School to further his education.
When Castillo steps into the ring he becomes the “Law” and everyone knows when you go head to head with “La Ley” you will lose!
Jose
Morales makes his way to Denver from Ciudad Juarez Chihuahua, Mexico. Having an
extensive amateur career in Mexico, Morales won multiple Mexican national
championships. Morales also had many gym wars with Former World Junior
Featherweight Champion Daniel Ponce De Leon. The two fought out of the same gym
in Juarez.
Morales is coming off his only defeat as a professional in a close battle against Puerto Rican Juan Santiago. Many have said that was the fight of the year. The two fought and banged each other in a back and forth manner, each taking turns. In the end, the judges gave Santiago the victory by the slimmest of margins.
Morales said all though he believes he won the fight, he will not let the loss interfere with the future and goals of his boxing career. On May 30th he will resume in his winning ways no matter who they put in front of him.
