Klitschko Decisions Ibragimov

By Moncayo Blackbull

(InsideBoxing.com, February 23, 2008) - I could have been watching a feature movie along side of my significant other, or having a nice dinner or just out on the town. Instead I stood home, invited a few friends over to watch the heavyweight contest between Wladimir Klitschko and Sultan Ibragimov. But I gave my word to the editor I’d write a report on the fight.  A not so east task to accomplish in more than one paragraph.

This was a contest where if you witness the first round, you have seen the entire fight.

The first few rounds you saw Ibragimov flick out his jab while Klitschko would slap down at the incoming Ibragimov southpaw jab.  Ibragimov would occasionally throw a left hand toward the mid section of Klitschko but never really finding the range.

It was not until the sixth round that Klitschko would open up (ok, semi open up, look I’m trying) and start to connect with his own jab.

By round number ten, Klitschko may have thrown 3 right hands and Ibragimov still had no answer on how to penetrate the distance between him and Klitschko.

The routine continues till the end of the fight and Klitschko wins with wide margins on all scorecards.  Oh, the two did wrestle each other to the ground, which may have given the most excitement of the bout.

What happen to the days when boxing fans could not wait for a heavyweight contest? Forget the Dom Pérignon break out the MD 20/20
