♫This Is How We See It♫
InsideBoxing polled the scribes you see here on InsideBoxing.com, and this is how they predict the outcome of the Andre Berto vs Juan Urango Fight.
Stephen S. Johnson
This fight is a real tough call.
Juan Urango is a 28 year old (21-1, 16 KO’s) devastatingly hard puncher born in
Colombia now living in Miami, Florida. He holds the 140 lbs crown according to
the IBF. Andre Berto is a 25 year old (24-0, 19KO’s) tough as nails youngster
whose parents are of Haitian descent but he is a native of (and currently lives
in) Winter Haven, Florida.
Andre Berto is unbeaten…Juan Urango’s lone defeat was at the hands of Ricky
Hatton by unanimous decision.
The two have no common opponent, so scientific logic had to be instituted.
Andre Berto has fought Steve Forbes, Luis Collazo and Miguel Angel Rodriguez.
Juan Urango has fought Herman Ngoudjo, and Ricky Hatton.
JUAN URANGO will defeat Andre Berto by UNANIMOUS DECISION.
Laz Izada
I’ve compared records and opponents and I’m going with Berto over Urango by Unanimous Decision. Berto has defeated some tough competition over the past 2 years. Beating by Unanimous Decision Luis Collazo this past January, Steve Forbes UD in 2008, David Estrada by TKO 2007, and Cosme Rivera by UD in 2007.
While Urango with his trainer
Evangelista Cotto have beaten this past January by UD, Herman Ngoudjo, and his
only lost was to Ricky Hatton by UD in 2007, and has a Draw with Mike Arnaoutis,
in 2004 his victorious are not as impressive as Berto’s.
I just have to go with the Berto which has beaten Luis Collazo and Steve
Forbes by UD this past year.
Ron Brashear
Berto by Decision. He is just too strong at this 147lb weight class and with Urgango coming up in weight, I believe it will be a little too much for him to be able to handle the power of Berto.
Tom Donelson
Berto, simply because he is a little quicker, better boxer and has yet to lose. He will stay undefeated after this fight as well.
The Polish Hitman
The Berto-Urango match-up should
amount to a ‘tune-up’ type of outing for Berto. Urango is a limited 140 pound
brawler while Andre Berto is at the top of his class from the ’04 Olympics.
Berto has been down and has some lapses in concentration so don’t be surprised
to see him in some less than ‘tune up’ type of situations as he continues to
learn his craft on the professional level.
Berto UD 12 over Urango
Frank Gonzalez Jr.
Berto by UD.

The pick on this one is Andre Berto, Berto gets all the publicity, he's a DiBella fighter and he's fighting at his natural fighting weight. Juan Urango just doesn't seem to get the respect he rightfully deserves, Urango looked very hungry and impressive in his last fight when he traveled to Canada and defeated local hero Herman Ngoudjo. Berto was given a gift against Luis Collazo, looked confused and had to hang on to finish the fight. If Berto tires, gets in trouble in this fight, it's goodnight.
Urango by knock out
