Multitalented Augustin shuffles acting and boxing careers

Jean Pierre Augustin

The Summer Heat Series of Boxing event will feature and showcase the explosive heavyweight Augustin (13-0-1) in an 8-round featured contest against Brazilian Claudio Morroni Porto (8-3-1).

Augustin turned professional on February 8, 2014 and has not looked back, focusing on his quest to become a world champion. Augustin fought 4 times in 2014, twice in 2015, twice in 2016, and 2017 has become Augustine’s break-out year with six bouts contested thus far. Augustin’s contest against Porto on June 16 will mark his 7th contest in 2017.

Porto has his own agenda and plans to slow down Augustin and bring him back to reality. Porto feels Augustin has yet to face a hard hitter such as himself boasting seven knock-outs in his 8 victories. His chin will definitely be tested come June 16. Porto is flying in from Sao Paulo, Brazil to prove his point.

The contest between Augustine and Porto was originally scheduled to take place on June 10 in Wellsburg, West Virginia but has been moved to Colorful Colorado.

If the name Jean Pierre Augustin sounds familiar outside the sport of boxing, then you are obviously a moviegoer. Augustin is also an actor and has played roles in major motion pictures, Bleed for This (2016) and Heart, Baby (2017) when he played the part of heavyweight boxer John Tate.

The card will also feature semi-pro boxers brought to you by the United States Boxing League (USBL). All semi-pro boxing fights are contested in a professional format, officiated and judged by Colorado commissioned officials. The bouts are 3 rounds each and fought without headgear and professional gloves are used.
