BELLATOR MMA SIGNS MULTI-YEAR BROADCAST DEAL WITH DIRECTV AND DGO IN LATIN AMERICA

BRINGING THE WORLD CLASS PROMOTION TO FANS IN ARGENTINA, URUGUAY, CHILE, COLOMBIA, ECUADOR, AND PERU

CHICAGO (June 16, 2023) – Leading mixed martial arts promotion BELLATOR MMA has landed a monumental, multi-year broadcast rights deal in Latin America with DIRECTV and its streaming platform DGO, which will bring the iconic combat sports league to fans in Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Perú.

DIRECTV is the top entertainment provider in Latin America, delivering the best experience and connectivity in the region. DGO is the company’s “direct to consumer” streaming platform, which combines the best of local and international live TV, OnDemand movies, series, documentaries, and of course, sports programming.

The rights deal commences with tonight’s (Friday, June 16) BELLATOR 297: Nemkov vs. Romero event, one of the most highly anticipated, blockbuster events of the year. The event takes place at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Ill. and is headlined by BELLATOR Light Heavyweight World Champion and No. 2-ranked pound-for-pound fighter Vadim Nemkov (16-2), defending the throne against No. 3-ranked ageless wonder Yoel Romero (15-6). An equally compelling co-main event will feature BELLATOR’s No. 1-ranked pound-for-pound fighter and current BELLATOR Featherweight World Champion, Patricio “Pitbull” (35-5), who looks to make MMA history by becoming a three-division champion as he moves down a weight class to challenge incumbent bantamweight kingpin and No. 8-ranked pound-for-pound athlete Sergio Pettis (22-5) in a BELLATOR “Super Fight” for the ages.

Fans that tune in on DIRECTV and DGO will get to keep up with all the BELLATOR action, starting with this week’s BELLATOR 297 event, but also including additional World Champions Ryan Bader, Johnny Eblen, Yaroslav Amosov, Usman Nurmagomedov, Patchy Mix, Cris “Cyborg” and Liz Carmouche.

BELLATOR President, Scott Coker said: “The global brand of BELLATOR has never been healthier, and our roster of fighters has never been stronger. Over the past few months, we’ve announced major new distribution deals in Japan, Brazil, the Nordics and the Netherlands, and I’m very pleased to be announcing this tremendous deal servicing several countries in Latin America.”

DIRECTV will have the exclusive rights to broadcast Bellator MMA fights in Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador. This content strengthens the company’s differential in sports programming in the region. More and more people choose us because we have the best content, which they can enjoy through a true multiplatform experience with DGO,” said Hernán Bidegain, Director of Original Content and Programming at DSPORTS.
