(August 27, 2023) – Mxolisi Zuma kept his record perfect and won the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) International Super Bantamweight title on Saturday evening, August 26, at the Sports Centre in Escourt, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Zuma stopped fellow unbeaten compatriot Awonke Tini in the fourth round, winning his first title in the pro ranks in impressive fashion. Just better in every department, Zuma dropped Tini in the third round and twice in the fourth before referee Siya Vabaza had seen enough and waved it off. Both men deserves big credit for taking on another up-and-comer so early in their careers, but Zuma proved to be a level above on the night. Now 5-0 (5) the new WBF champion looks like a young man with a bright future. Tini, now 4-1-1 (3), can hopefully learn from the experience and come back stronger.
