MOHAMED MIMOUNE TAKES OUT THE UNDEFEATED STEVEN GALEANO IN 6

(July 27, 2023) – Last night on the latest installment of Wednesday Night Fightslive on Probox TV, we saw the French veteran Mohamed ‘The Problem’ Mimoune face the young prospect Steven Galeano, scheduled over 10 rounds as the co-main event at the Kissimmee Civic Centre, Florida.

Coming off the back of two losses via unanimous decision, former world champion Mimoune needed to get back to winning ways.

However, the New York native Galeano put his undefeated record on the line following a second round KO victory last year, and being part of Lomachenko’s training camp during his inactivity.

Southpaw Mimoune took to the centre of the ring early in the fight, as Galeano kept him at bay using his jab to the head and the body in his first 10 round fight.

The Frenchman calmly edged forward using his experience and footwork to close the distance. A look of concern was evident on the face of Galeano.

Galeano defensively moved on the back foot meanwhile Mimoune wasted little energy cutting off the ring to set his traps, and walk through the shots of Galeano with ease.

As Galeano hesitated to put his punches together, Mimoune grew in confidence and took the young prospect into deep waters, letting combinations off on Galeano as he was pressed against the ropes.

At the end of the 5th round, Mimoune fired a sharp right hook to the chin of his opponent, as Galeano tried to land a body shot, which as a result sent him backwards to the canvas. The veteran smelt blood in the 6th round, attacking the head and body of Galeano and sending him to the floor 3 more times before the referee waved off the contest halfway through the round.

With a smile on the face of his mentor, Roy Jones Jr., Mohamed ‘The Problem’ Mimoune achieved the 4th stoppage victory of his career, taking the will and ‘0’ of Steven Galeano, giving him the first defeat of his career and a lesson in the sweet science.
