Shields Vs. Marshall Postponed Due To Death Of Queen Elizabeth

(September 9, 2022) – Due to the death of Queen Elizabeth, the unification fight between bitter rivals Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall for the undisputed female middleweight title has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 15, at The O2 Arena in London.

Originally scheduled to take place tomorrow (September 10), Shields vs. Marshall was to also feature a three-belt junior lightweight unification showdown between female stars Mikaela Mayer and Alycia Baumgardner.

Major events across the entire UK have been canceled or postponed due the Monarch’s death at age 96 on Thursday and the British Boxing Board of Control decided to follow suit out of respect. Tickets for Saturday’s card will remain valid for the rescheduled date.
