(July 29, 2023) – In one of the best boxing events we’ve witnessed in quite a while, the Spence Vs Crawford PPV did put anyone to sleep… and no controversy.

In the first contest [PPV] Yoenis Tellez, who had only 5 professional fights, all victories against subpar opponents, stepped into the ring against an experienced Sergio Garcia sporting a record of 34-2. Tellez had something to prove, and he did just that by taking control of the fight from the starting bell. The contest was scheduled for 10 rounds but it only took Tellez 3 rounds. Tellez stops Garcia in three.

At 40 years old, Nonito Donaire came short in his run to regain a world championship. Donaire drops a decision to Alexandro Santiago.

Isaac Cruz made good on his quest to put himself in line for a world championship contest by defeating an undefeated Giovanni Cabrera (21-0). Cruz wins by split decision.

Errol Spence Jr had an off-night or simply was not on Terence Crawford’s level. A fight where many boxing gurus were expecting a close 50/50 fight, was not so. Crawford dismantled the WBC, IBF, and WBA champion with a precision performance. Spence was hurt from the third round forward but never stopped fighting. Spence went down three times before the referee stopped the action in the ninth round.
